An impeachment resolution against President Donald Trump was blocked by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday with a majority of Democrats joining a unanimous GOP in voting to table the measure.
But two members of Palm Beach County’s House delegation — Reps. Alcee Hastings, D-Delray Beach, and Lois Frankel, D-West Palm Beach — defied their own party’s leadership and voted to consider the resolution by Rep. Al Green, D-Tex.
The vote to table Green’s impeachment resolution was 364 to 58.
“Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said in a joint statement.
Frankel and Hastings disagreed.
