Florida state Sen. Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, is not a declared candidate for governor, but he’ll be paying for food like one at the Republican Party of Florida’s quarterly meeting in Orlando this weekend.
Latvala — expected to officially launch a bid for governor next Wednesday — is hosting a dessert reception for party movers and shakers on Friday night at the Rosen Shingle Creek resort. The event is being sponsored by Latvala’s Florida Leadership Committee, which began July with more than $3.5 million in cash on hand.
Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, who opened his campaign for governor in May, is hosting an “Up & Adam” breakfast for RPOF meeting attendees on Saturday morning.
U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Palm Coast, and state House Speaker Richard Corcoran, R-Land-O’Lakes, could also join the Republican primary for governor, but neither has an event on the RPOF weekend schedule.
