First lady and part-time Palm Beach resident Melania Trump will join President Donald Trump on his eight-day trip to five countries, attending some events with him and participate in some separate events as well, the White House announced today.
The Trumps depart Friday for Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy, Belgium and Sicily and are scheduled to return to Washington on May 27.
It’s the first foreign trip of Trump’s presidency.
Melania Trump’s plans include attending “spousal programs” at the NATO and G-7 summits.
She is also scheduled to deliver remarks to U.S. military personnel and their families in Italy.
“I am very excited for the upcoming trip,” the first lady said in a statement released by the White House. “This will not just be an opportunity to support my husband as he works on important matters of national security and foreign relations, it will also be my honor to visit and speak with women and children from different countries, with different perspectives.”
