House Intel Trump critic raising money for Palm Beach County Dems

U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee and a vocal critic of President Donald Trump, will headline a $250-a-plate lunch for the Palm Beach County Democratic Party next weekend.

Schiff will also give $10-per-ticket remarks on “Intelligence in the Age of Trump” at a second party-sponsored event after the lunch. Both events will be next Saturday, March 18, at the Bowery Live restaurant in CityPlace in West Palm Beach.

While visiting Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach last week, Trump took to Twitter to accuse former President Barack Obama of tapping his phones and being a “bad (or sick) guy!”

Replied Schiff: “If there is something bad or sick going on, it is the willingness of the nation’s chief executive to make the most outlandish and destructive claims without providing a scintilla of evidence to support them. No matter how much we hope and pray that this President will grow into one who respects and understands the Constitution, separation of powers, role of a free press, responsibilities as the leader of the free world, or demonstrates even the most basic regard for the truth, we must now accept that President Trump will never become that man.”

On Friday, all 14 tweets on Schiff’s Twitter feed were critical of Trump.

Schiff also keynoted the Palm Beach County Democratic Party’s annual Truman-Kennedy-Johnson fundraising dinner last September.
