President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will host Sen. Marco Rubio and his wife, Jeanette Rubio, for dinner at the White House tonight.

The official White House schedule released Tuesday night says the dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. in the Blue Room.

wh-rubio-trump-dinnerRubio and Trump were bitter rivals during the GOP presidential contest, with Trump calling the Florida senator “Little Marco” and Rubio briefly going into an insult-comic phase in which he made fun of Trump’s hand size.

“You know what they say about men with small hands,” Rubio said on the campaign trail in February, pausing a moment before adding, “You can’t trust them.”

During a March 3 Republican debate in Detroit, Trump held up his hands to attest to their size.

“Look at those hands, are they small hands?” Trump said. “And, he referred to my hands — if they’re small, something else must be small. I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee it.”

Rubio eventually endorsed Trump for president, but he has continued to be critical of Trump’s friendly posture towards Russia.
