References to “death panels” spurred shouts of anger at a Republican congressman’s town hall meeting Saturday in New Port Richey on the Affordable Care Act, accoding to a CNN report.
Rep. Gus Bilirakis met with constituents in Pasco County, which supported Donald Trump by 21 points, but he was met with a strong contingent of pro-Obamacare attendees. Around 250 attended the morning meeting, which erupted when the chairman of the county’s Republican Party complained about ACA “death panels.”
Bilirakis nodded in approval, but members of the audience, which included several doctors, yelled at Bill Akins and called him a “liar.”
The tense arguments continued throughout the meeting. Much of it was captured on video and posted on Twitter. Afterward, Akins continued his tiff with an Obamacare supporter:
