As the first weekend of in-person early voting begins in Florida, 3.25 million people have already cast ballots for the Nov. 8 election.
Nearly 1.9 million have voted by mail and nearly 1.3 million have voted at in-person early voting sites.
Republicans continue to hold a slight turnout edge over Democrats. Those voting so far include 1,328,630 Republicans, or 40.8 percent of the total. Democrats have cast 1,305,894 votes or 40.1 percent.
New voter registration statistics released Friday by the Florida Division of Elections show 12.9 million people are registered to vote for the general election. Democrats are 37.9 percent of the electorate, Republicans are 35.4 percent, those with no party affiliation are 24 percent and the remainder belong to minor parties.
