SANFORD — With the government announcing steep increases in Obamacare premiums, Donald Trump ripped Hillary Clinton today for supporting the federal health care law and predicted a Clinton presidency would bring even higher costs and taxes.
Trump jetted in to Orlando-Sanford International Airport for an afternoon rally after campaigning in Miami earlier in the day. He’s heading to Tallahassee tonight as he wraps up a three-day swing through Florida, a state he must win to have any shot at the presidency.
The Department of Health and Human Services reported Monday that premiums will go up sharply next year under the health care program, and many consumers will be down to just one choice for their insurer. Before taxpayer-provided subsidies, premiums for a midlevel benchmark plan will increase an average of 25 percent across the 39 states served by the federally run online market. Some states will see much bigger jumps, others less.
“Forget 25 percent,” Trump told thousands of supporters on an airport tarmac. “Because Hillary Clinton wants to double up and triple up on Obamacare, the numbers will go through the roof, your taxes will double and triple.”
Said Trump: “I’m going to repeal it and replace it. She’s going to expand it. And it’s going to get more and more expensive. And its no good anyways….Repealing Obamcare and stopping Hillary’s health care takeover is one of the single most important reasons that we must win on Nov. 8.”
