A UNF poll shows a lot of Floridians are voting “against” Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Another Florida poll shows another margin-of-error contest between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump — although Clinton would be in good shape without third-party candidates on the ballot.

Clinton leads Trump 41-38 percent, with Libertarian Gary Johnson and Green Party contender Jill Stein drawing 6 percent and 3 percent, respectively, according to the survey by the University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Laboratory.

Without the third-party contenders, Clinton would hold a 7 percent edge on Trump, the poll showed.

When asked about their vote choice, 46 percent of those who said they were voting for Trump said it was a vote against Clinton; for those voting for Clinton, 43 percent said their vote would be against Trump.

Michael Binder, director of UNF’s laboratory said, “Interestingly, both candidates are almost evenly split when it comes to whether people are voting for or against them, which is unusual in a presidential election.”

The phone survey of 696 likely voters was conducted Sept. 27 through Tuesday. It has a margin-of-error of plus-or-minus 3.8 percent.
