A hurricane warning is in effect for congressional District 18, leading to the rescheduling of tonight’s debate between Republican Brian Mast and Democrat Randy Perkins.

Tonight’s congressional District 18 debate between Republican Brian Mast and Democrat Randy Perkins has been rescheduled for Oct. 17 because of Hurricane Matthew.

 

Mast and Perkins are running in a nationally watched race for the Palm Beach-Treasure Coast swing district seat of Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Jupiter, who is running for U.S. Senate against Republican Sen. Marco Rubio.

 

Sponsored by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, the Oct. 17 debate will be at the Palm Beach State College Eissey Theatre in Palm Beach Gardens and will air live on WPEC Channel 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 

WPEC’s Liz Quirantes will be moderator. Palm Beach Post reporter George Bennett, TCPalm reporter Nicole Rodriguez and WPEC reporter Jana Eschbach will ask questions.
