George W. Bush to raise money for Marco Rubio in Palm Beach
Former President George W. Bush will headline a fundraiser for Republican Sen. Marco Rubio‘s re-election bid in Palm Beach next month.
The exact location for the Oct. 14 event hasn’t been revealed.
Donors can attend a $2,700-a-head general reception, according to an invitation for the event. Couples who give or raise $10,800 get to attend a photo reception. And those who give $25,000 get a seat at a “chairman’s dinner.”
Rubio faces a tough general election battle against Democratic U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy of Jupiter.
George W. Bush has kept a relatively low political profile since leaving office. His brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, was a mentor-turned-rival to Rubio when both ran for president this year.
