Anne Holton, the wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine, will campaign in Palm Beach County on Tuesday for the Hillary Clinton-Kaine ticket.
Holton is also expected to campaign in Fort Myers on Monday.
Specific details haven’t been released for either Florida event, but the Clinton campaign says Holton”will discuss Clinton and Kaine’s plan to create an economy that works for all, not just those at the top.”
Holton is the daughter of former Republican Virginia Gov. Lynwood Holton. She was Virginia’s secretary of education but stepped down in July when Clinton tapped Kaine as her running mate.
Kaine, a former Jesuit missionary to Honduras, spoke during his Democratic National Convention speech in July of Linwood Holton’s commitment to integrating Virginia’s public schools. That included sending his own kids to inner city schools.
“Many years later Anne went off to college and she brought those lessons from that pivotal time with her. And then one day, in a study group, she met this goofy guy who had been off teaching kids in Honduras,. Well, Anne and I have now been married almost 32 years and I am the luckiest husband in the world.”
