Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are virtually tied in Florida in the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are in a statistical dead heat in Florida in a new Quinnipiac University poll that continues to show high negatives for both candidates and a significant gender gap.

Democrat Clinton holds a 46-to-45 percent lead over Republican Trump in a poll with a 3 percent margin of error. Between July 30 and Aug. 7, Quinnipiac surveyed 1,056 likely voters — as opposed to merely registered voters in Quinnipiac’s earlier polls.

Clinton had a 42-to-39 percent Florida lead in a July Quinnipiac poll and an 8-point lead in Florida in a June poll.

The new poll finds 55 percent of Florida voters have an unfavorable view of Clinton and 54 percent have an unfavorable view of Trump.

Clinton holds a 53-to-40 percent lead among women; Trump holds a 51-to-39 percent lead among men.

When Libertarian Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein are thrown into the mix, Clinton and Trump are tied at 43 percent.
