Hispanic Florida GOP spokesman leaving; ‘avoiding efforts that support Donald Trump’

Republican Party of Florida Communications Director Wadi Gaitan is leaving his high-profile post in America’s largest swing state for a job that allows him to steer clear of “efforts that support Donald Trump.”

Gaitan, whose Spanish-language skills were key to wooing the state’s growing Latino vote, is going to work for the LIBRE Initiative, a conservative outreach effort to Hispanic voters funded by the billionaire Koch brothers.

Said Gaitan in an email to The Palm Beach Post and other outlets: “I’m thankful for my almost two years with the Florida GOP, however, moving on gives me a great, new opportunity to continue promoting free market solutions while avoiding efforts that support Donald Trump.”
